I am changing the directory ~/Doownloads to be owned by the username 'ruff' and the group 'edgz'. Make sure to replace with a username you want and with the group the user is a part of. To just change the ownership of the directory only, use this command: If the ~/Downloads directory is inside a users homedir (that isn't root) then I don't see why you would need to have it be owned by root. It does sound like a permission issue but you will have to check who has permission to see/write/execute on those symlinked files. tor-browser_en-US -> /some/where (rwxrwxrwx root root) Just from what you said in your two posts, I see something like this (I'm just guessing): I would look at that but what about the hierarchy is for ~/Downloads Are you by any chance running Firefox as root? ![]()
